L'exemplaire de Paul Alexis, dédicataire de l'une des nouvelles, enrichi d'une longue note autographe signée d'Anatole France. Le texte, vantant les mérites de Maupassant conteur, fut publié dans le supplément illustré de L'Écho de Paris du 8 mars 1893 : "On aime, dans les contes de Guy de Maupassant, la sûreté d'un talent qui se possède.[...] Force, souplesse, mesure, rien ne manque à ce conteur robuste et simple. [...] Il est un des princes du conte dans ce pays de France où l'art de conter s'est transmis à travers les âges, depuis les vieux fabliaux jusqu'aux modernes nouvelles." L'exemplaire est enrichi d'un envoi de l'auteur à Paul Alexis, à qui la nouvelle "Un normand" est dédiée : "à Paul Alexis, son ami, Guy de Maupassant". Membre du groupe de Médan qui réunit autour d'Émile Zola les auteurs Marius Roux, Léon Hennique, Henri Céard, Joris-Karl Huysmans et Guy de Maupassant, on lui doit l'une des six nouvelles du recueil Les Soirées de Médan paru en 1880 ("Après la bataille"). In-12 (183 x 115 mm). Édition originale. Avec la couverture rosée originale à l'adresse de Rouveyre et Blond. Enrichi d'une note autographe signée d’Anatole France sur l’art de Guy de Maupassant, 3 pp. sur 3 ff. in-12, reliée en début d'ouvrage. Reliure signée de Yseux, successeur de Thierry-Simier. Demi-maroquin vert à coins ; dos à nerfs, caissons ornés de filets et petits fers dorés, tête dorée, couverture rosée conservée.

First edition, this copy inscribed by the author to Paul Alexis, one of the dedicatees of the work, and enriched with a long signed autograph note by Anatole France praising Maupassant's talent as a storyteller.

First of all, you should register to be able to purchase at auction. Choose a lot from the upcoming auction and the maximum amount you want to place on it. After confirmation of your choice, we will send your application by e-mail to the appropriate auction house. If the auction house accepts a request, it will participate in the auction. You can view the current status of a bid at any time in your personal account in the "Bids" section.
Auctions are performed by auction houses and each of the auction houses describes their terms of auction. You can see the texts in the section "Auction information".
The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
