A toute épreuve.
S'exprimant à propos de ce travail d'illustration, Miró écrivit: "I have made some trials which have allowed me to see what it was to make a book and not merely to illustrate it. Illustration is always a secondary matter. The important thing is that a book must have all the dignity of a sculpture carved in marble".
Afectuosamente. Miró, 9⁄11/58 ».
Cramer, Miró, n°49 ; The Artist and the Book, n°209 ; Soby, Joan Miró, n° 29 & pp. 135-139.
Grand in-4 (323 x 247 mm).
A masterpiece of illustrations by Joan Miró. Superb copy with a large signed drawing by the artist and bound by Spanish binder Brugalla, with a Miró-inspired design.
