Private ownership, Germany.
The portrayed woman, Mademoiselle Reichart, posed for the students in the studio of the Berlin painter Karl Wilhelm Wach (1787 - 1845). The young woman is presumably the daughter of the painter J. Reichart, who lived in Berlin's Friedrichstraße.
Grashof, who came to Berlin the year before for a short time to study, shows her in a classical bust portrait with a simple blue dress decorated with gold and a brooch on her headband.
This work is probably Grashof's earliest known work
