Exemplaire d’auteur, avec quadruple suite des gravures de Picasso, dans une reliure de Paul Bonet, provenant de la collection personnelle du relieur. Il s’agit de la seconde édition, la première illustrée, d’un texte paru à l’origine deux ans plus tôt. “La suite accompagnant les exemplaires de luxe comprend les versions en rouge, bleu, jaune et vert de chacune de ces zincographies, ainsi que leur superposition, pour laquelle furent imprimés, sur la même feuille, successivement ‘Femme assise’ en jaune, ‘Danseuse I’ en rouge, ‘Danseuse II’ en bleu, ‘Portrait de Dora Maar’ en noir” (Goeppert-Cramer, Picasso, n°36). L’eau forte utilisée en frontispice est également un portrait de Dora Maar. Le présent exemplaire comprend donc, au total, 22 gravures de Pablo Picasso. In-4 (190 x 138 mm). Un des VI exemplaires d’auteur, sur vergé d’Arches teinté, celui-ci justifié II/VI, signé par l’auteur et l’artiste à la justification. 1 eau-forte et gravure au burin et 4 zincographies retravaillées en taille-douce, par Pablo Picasso. L’exemplaire comprend également, reliée in fine, une suite en quatre couleurs (bleu, jaune, rouge, vert) des zincographies, précédée de leur superposition en noir et en couleurs –ces gravures supplémentaires ne sont pas annoncées à la justification. Reliure signée de Paul Bonet, datée 1969, au décor mi-parti : box blanc sur le premier plat, noir sur le second, avec grande silhouette découpée mosaïquée sans sertissure en box (respectivement noir ou blanc) rehaussée de franges déchiquetées de box vert d’eau et vieux rose, doublure de box blanc et garde de box noir, couverture et dos conservés, tranches dorées sur témoins, chemise, étui (Paul Bonet, Carnets, n°1655, rep. pl. 158). Provenance : Paul Bonet (1889-1971). Sur le faux-titre, envoi autographe signé de Georges Hugnet, à l’encre rouge : “à Paul Bonet, ces poèmes d’une solide mauvaise tête. En toute amitié, GEORGES HUGNET, 1942”, accompagné d’un poème autographe, reproduisant le texte de la p. 33. Reliure dessinée par Paul Bonet, pour sa collection personnelle (ex-libris sur le contreplat ; n° 255 du catalogue de sa vente des 22 et 23 avril 1970, rep. pl.
