Édition originale du premier ouvrage associant Picasso et Iliazd. "Afat" est un mot inspiré de l'arabe et signifie à la fois "trisitesse" et "femme belle qui inspire un amour malheureux". Ce recueil, en russe, est composé de 76 poèmes sur ce thème de l'amour mélancolique. Les illustrations de Picasso représentent 2 arabesques, inspiré du titre, et 4 magnifiques gravures au burin s'inspirant du thème. Exemplaire d'une grande fraîcheur, partiellement non coupé, sans la couverture de parchemin. Goeppert-Cramer, Picasso, n°33.In-4 oblong (204 x 305 mm). En feuilles, texte en russe, liées par un codron de chanvre, couverture de papier, la couverture de parchemin est ici manquante. Elle ne semblle pas avoir systématiquement joint à chaque exemplaire. Illustré de 6 gravures originales hors-texte sur cuivre en noir de Pablo Picasso, soit 2 arabesques coufiques au lavis gravées à l'aquatinte au sucre, 3 burins et un burin et eau-forte.
