PIETER DE MOLIJN, HARVEST LANDSCAPE WITH FIGURES IN THE FOREGROUND, BLACK CHALK, GREY WASH

A Dutch painter and draughtsman active in Haarlem in the first half of the 17th century, Pieter de Molyn is best known for his landscapes of flat land and dunes crisscrossed by rutted paths. The present drawing is precisely in this vein, showing fields at harvest time. With swiftly sketched lines, the zigzags and undulations of the landscape are expertly picked out. This drawing has many similarities with other works; the wheat fields, hills and winding road also appear in an unlocated drawing (H.-U. Beck, Pieter Molyn 1595-1661, Katalog der Handzeichnungen, Doornspijk 1998, p.196, n° 435).

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
