Provenance

Highly precious stone-set sports watches are doubtlessly amongst Rolex’s scarcest models. Made in very small series only, these stunning timepieces are coveted treasures in today's market.

The precious stone-set GMT-Master was originally launched in 1979 with reference 16758SARU, the designation "SARU" referring to the sapphire and ruby setting to the bezel, a tribute to the blue and red coloured bakelite bezel of the 1956-GMT Master model.

The present watch is from the ref. 116759SA series, the lugs and protective crown shoulders set with 76 diamonds, the bezel with 29 diamonds and 30 sapphires.

Dial: with tiny dent to the sapphire crystal near the 8 o’clock position; minor scratches and pinhead dings intermittent to the sapphire crystal; all of which are only visible upon close inspection
Case: with very minor scratches and pinhead dings mainly to the edges of the bezel, visible only upon close inspection; otherwise in overall very good condition
Bracelet: 18k white gold Rolex Oyster bracelet with very minor scratches
