First edition and one of the earliest runs of the watermarked plates dated from 1818 to 1820. A fine fresh copy of one of the best 19th-century English albums illustrating views and scenes along the Seine, a must of every Grand Tour. Great impression of the plates skilfully handcoloured. Ackermann published the work in 6 parts, each of 4 plates, between January and June 1821; the book is part of his series of "Picturesque Tours" published between 1820 and 1828.

4to (331 x 278mm). With engraved color vignette on title, unsigned aquatint vignette at foot of last page, engraved color map, and 24 fine hancoloured aquatint plates by Augustus Pugin and John Gendall (occasional light foxing and offsetting). Contemporary light brown straight grained morocco (rebacked preserving old spine, joints reinforced). Provenance: Frances M. Myers (armorial bookplate).

Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments.
