Thence by descent

After studying law and working as a journalist at Le Figaro, Jacques Lassaigne published his first book on the artist Honoré Daumier in 1937. Today, Lassaigne is remembered as a prominent critic and curator who authored several books on art movements and artists, including monographs on Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Miro and Chagall. Lassaigne also served as President of the International Association of Art Critics and Chief Curator of the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville in Paris. Following his retirement, he was appointed artistic adviser to the city of Paris, a position he held till his death in 1983.

Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
