Sitzende voluminöse Figur, die Unterarme auf den Knien gelagert. Mit Gefäßöffnung am Kopf. Das Gesicht detailliert ausgearbeitet. Bräunlicher bis roter Ton. Minimale alte Fehlstelle am Gefäßrand über dem linken Auge, sonst intakt und ohne Ergänzungen. Auf dem Boden alte Marke (wohl 2. Hälfte 19. Jahrhundert): "Aus d. National Museum in Mexico, Fund b/ Guerclájo". Höhe 22 cm.
Provenienz: Aus altem süddeutschen Familienbesitz. In den 1950er Jahren in London erworben. Laut Bodenmarke bereits vor 1900 in deutscher Sammlung.

A Mexican seated hollow figure, Nayarit shaft tomb culture, 200 B.C. - 500 A.D.
Seated voluminous figure, the forearms resting on the knees. With an opening at the head. The face is worked out in detail. Brownish to red clay. Minimal old chip on the rim of the vessel above the left eye, otherwise intact and without additions. Old mark on the bottom (presumably 2nd half of the 19th century): "From the National Museum Mexico, found near Guerclájo". Height 22 cm.
Provenance: From an old family estate in southern Germany. Acquired in the 1950s in London. According to the label on the base, already in a German collection before 1900.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
