3 lettres autographes signées d'Ivan Tourgueniev à propos de la traduction de Fumée, probablement adressées au traducteur Augustin Golitsyne. Le roman, dépeignant avec ironie différentes strates de la société russe contemporaine, sera reçu avec indignation par les conservateurs comme les révolutionnaires. Dès 1867, le prince russe Augustin Golitsyne s'attèle à la traduction française de Fumée pour la revue catholique Le Correspondant, dont il est actionnaire, en supprimant certains passages qu'il trouve trop osés. Tourgueniev se tourne alors vers Prosper Mérimée afin d'obtenir une relecture de cette traduction et de proposer des corrections à Golitsyne : "Il y a des corrections importantes, que j'ose recommander à votre attention. Je ne sais si M. Mérimée est encore à Paris." En dépit des remarques des deux écrivains, une version tronquée du roman paraîtra en cinq livraisons entre juillet et novembre 1867. Il faudra attendre la publication en volume par l'éditeur Hetzel en 1868 pour que les corrections de Tourgueniev et Mérimée soient prises en compte.
"J'ai reçu les trois premières feuilles de "Fumée" - mais je ne sais pas si vous êtes décidé à continuer la publication de votre traduction dans "Le Correspondant" - malgré les obstacles qui paraissent surgir. [...] Si la publication doit continuer ou s'achever dans le n° du 25 octobre - je vous serais bien obligé de ne rien faire paraître que je n'eusse parcouru."

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
