Vhils, de son vrai prénom Alexandre Manuel Dias Farto, est un artiste portugais né en 1987 et qui travaille entre Londres et Lisbonne. Depuis les années 2000, il évolue dans des environnements urbains qu’il s’approprie et transforme pour en faire sa première scène d’expression. Son œuvre a pris tour à tour la forme de sculptures en bas-relief, de peintures au pochoir, de gravures sur métal, mais aussi de productions scéniques ou encore de courts-métrages. Poétiques tout en demeurant accessibles, ses travaux invitent à la réflexion autour de thèmes de l’identité, de la vie dans les sociétés contemporaines et leurs environnements saturés, des exigences de la vie quotidienne ou encore de la résistance face à la destruction et au changement des environnements urbains. Son travail a été présenté dans plus de 30 pays depuis 2005 dans le cadre d’expositions individuelles et collectives, de projets associatifs, de collaboration avec de nombreuses fondations ou musées tels que la Fondation EDP (Lisbonne), le Centre Pompidou (Paris), le Barbican Centre (Londres), le CAFA Art Museum (Pékin) ou encore le Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (San Diego).
Vhils, whose real name is Alexandre Manuel Dias Farto, is a Portuguese artist born in 1987, working between London and Lisbon. Since 2000, he has been evolving in urban environments that he appropriates and transforms in order to make them his primary stage of expression.
His work has taken the form of bas-relief sculptures, stencil paintings, metal engravings, stage productions and short films. Poetic yet accessible, his work invites reflection on themes of identity, life in contemporary societies and their saturated environments, the demands of everyday life, and resistance to the destruction and change of urban environments. His work has been shown in more than 30 countries since 2005 in solo and group exhibitions, in association projects, and in collaboration with numerous foundations and museums such as the EDP Foundation (Lisbon), the Centre Pompidou (Paris), the Barbican Centre (London), the CAFA Art Museum (Beijing) and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (San Diego).

First of all, you should register to be able to purchase at auction. After confirming your email address, enter your personal information in your user profile, such as your first name, last name, and mail address. Choose a lot from the upcoming auction and the maximum amount you want to place on it. After confirmation of your choice, we will send your application by e-mail to the appropriate auction house. If the auction house accepts a request, it will participate in the auction. You can view the current status of a bid at any time in your personal account in the "Bids" section.
Auctions are performed by auction houses and each of the auction houses describes their terms of auction. You can see the texts in the section "Auction information".
The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
