First edition of this important and well-illustrated work on the topography of Italy with two splendid large-format bird's eye views of Venice and Rome.

Folio (340 x 210mm). Engraved frontispiece by Sandrart, title with engraved vignette, large engraved armorial coat of arms, 43 engraved plates including two splendid large format and folding bird's eye views of Venice and Rome, with errata (text a little browned, minimal reinforcement at the outer margin of the map of Venice). Contemporary calf decorated in gilt on covers and spine, red edges (rebacked preserving part of the original spine, corners restored). (2)
