Exemplaire en maroquin rouge de l'époque aux armes et chiffre du chancelier Pierre Séguier, qui "laissa une des plus considérables bibliothèques de l’époque...Ses livres étaient presque tous reliés par Antoine Ruette, en basane ou en maroquin rouge” (OHR, pl. 271, fers n°1 et 6). Son chiffre est formé des lettres F M P S, pour Pierre Séguier et son épouse Madeleine Fabri. Cette première partie couvre Paris et l'Île de France. Millard, III, cat. 84 ; Brunet, V, col. 1529-1530.
In-4 (304 x 202 mm). Édition originale. Titre-frontispice, devise de l'éditeur sur la page de titre, 1 carte de France dépliante, carte dépliante du “gouvernement general de l’Isle de France et pais circomvoisins”, 1 carte dépliante des “diocese, prevoste et eslection de Paris”, 1 vue de Paris en 1630 (très grand format), 1 vue de Paris en 1654 (très grand format, plus important que la précédente), 1 plan de Paris en 1654, en perspective cavalière (replié), 1 plan de Paris en 1620, en perspective cavalière (replié) ; 84 planches à double page et 23 planches donnant chacune deux sujets (soit 46 sujets). (fréquentes mouillures marginales, rousseurs, quelques déchirures marginales. Manquent les feuillets A1 et A2.) Reliure de l’époque : maroquin rouge aux armes du chancelier Séguier, encadrement à la Du Seuil, fleurons en écoinçons, dos à nerfs, caissons ornés aux armes et au chiffre du chancelier, roulette dorée sur les coupes, gardes de papier marbré, tranches dorées (frottements et taches, restaurations aux coiffes de tête et de queue ainsi qu’aux parties voisines des mors, dos légèrement passé).
Provenance : Chancelier Pierre Séguier (1588-1672 ; reliure aux armes) -- ex-libris manuscrit “Boullay” sur le second feuillet blanc -- une signature a été découpée sur la page de titre. C'était déjà le cas lors de la vente Destailleur en 1894 -- cachet à sec armorié sur le premier feuillet blanc de la famille normande Le Vicomte, avec sa devise “Le Visconte e l’Enor” -- Hippolyte Destailleur (1822-1893 ; ex-libris gravé ; sa vente, Paris, 28 novembre 1894, lot n°164) -- autre ex-libris armorié.
First part of Zeiller's work on France, describing Paris and the surrounding region. The copy is in contemporary red morocco with the gilt arms and cipher of Chancellor of France Pierre Séguier.

First of all, you should register to be able to purchase at auction. Choose a lot from the upcoming auction and the maximum amount you want to place on it. After confirmation of your choice, we will send your application by e-mail to the appropriate auction house. If the auction house accepts a request, it will participate in the auction. You can view the current status of a bid at any time in your personal account in the "Bids" section.
Auctions are performed by auction houses and each of the auction houses describes their terms of auction. You can see the texts in the section "Auction information".
The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
