NOTE:
Zuo Xiaotong, also known as Zi yi and Yicao, was a native of Xiangyin, Hunan Province. He was the song of Zuo Zongtang, who was named a candidate for the imperial examination and was taken refuge in Shanghai after the Republic of China. Zuo was an expert in calligraphy, specialising in Seal script.
