Alexei Stepanovich Stepanov (Russian: Алексей Степанович Степанов) was a Russian artist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He is known as a painter, graphic artist, illustrator and teacher.
Alexei Stepanov worked mainly in landscapes, domestic and animalistic genres, and also wrote portraits. According to critics, his works are characterized by poetry, narrativeness, transparency of brushstroke, the use of plein air effects.
The master was a member of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions and one of the founders of the Union of Russian Artists.
