Alwine Schroedter
Alwine Schroedter / Schrödter, born Heuser was a German painter and illustrator associated with the Düsseldorfer Malerschule. She learned painting and drawing from her aunt and became part of the cultural circle around Heinrich Hoffmann in Frankfurt before returning to Düsseldorf. Her husband, Adolph Schroedter, introduced her to prominent artists, including Johann Wilhelm Schirmer. After her family and friends died or moved away, she opened a private drawing school for women.
