Antonio Tibaldi
Antonio Tibaldi was an Italian painter specialising in still lifes.
The paintings of Antonio Tibaldi known today are extremely similar in style and, above all, in subject, making them easily recognisable. They are always still lifes, characterised by the presence of carpets, brocade draperies and portieres. Textiles usually cover marble bas-reliefs on which are placed weapons and armour, crockery made of silver or other precious metals, books, musical instruments and products; animals such as parrots and, above all, small dogs are often present. The palette is attested by warm tones, in which red in all its shades predominates.
