Charles Edmond Théodore Milcendeau
Charles Edmond Théodore Milcendeau is a French painter. From 1894 to 1896, Charles practically only executed individual drawings, giving us portraits. In 1905 he bought a property in Soullans. He spent part of the year there but regularly set out to discover new places, new inspirations: from 1896 to 1910 he passed through Belgium, Italy, Sardinia, Corsica, Spain... He will bring back from his travels many portraits because the man is initially a portraitist who is interested in "little people". He brought back many influences from his travels: French impressionism, Flemish chiaroscuro.
