Christiaan Kramm
Christian Kramm is a Dutch architect, artist and art collector. In 1810, at the age of 13, he was apprenticed to the jeweler N. van Voorst, where he also learned to draw from the wallpaper artist Hendrik van Barneveld. In his free time, he played in the Chinese shadow theater, which he was very interested in and made his own scenery for this. Five years after joining van Voorst, he was accepted as an artist's private apprentice and director of the drawing department at the Stadstekenschoo. He met the director of the theater, Cornelis van Leeuwen, and until 1840 he created many scenery for the theater. He also worked as an architect. In 1826 he was appointed director of the architectural department of the City Drawing School, which he remained for 40 years.
