Herbert Sidney Percy
Herbert Sidney Percy, a member of the Williams family of painters, was known for his portraits and landscapes. The son of renowned landscape painter Sidney Richard Percy, he excelled in his artistic pursuits.
Percy considered himself primarily a portrait and miniature painter, earning commissions from prominent English families. Additionally, he ventured into impressionist art, worked as a picture restorer, and created engravings for books and magazines. Percy's talent extended to illustrating books for his close friend, writer G.K. Chesterton. He exhibited his works at various esteemed institutions and his portrait of Captain James Wood is displayed at the Royal Marines Museum.
