Johann Peter Götting
Johann Peter Götting was a German history painter and sculptor of the Romantic era. Götting received his first painting and drawing lessons as well as instruction in modeling from Johann Baptist Joseph Bastiné at the Aachen drawing school. However, painting would remain his main activity. A few years later, Götting switched to the Düsseldorf Art Academy. Götting in the choice of his motifs in the Nazarene art orientation. Some of his works of art were included in the catalog "Histoire de l'art moderne Allemagne" by the art collector Atanazy Raczyński. After a successful debut at the 1837 painting exhibition in Aachen, Götting was represented with his paintings several times from 1834 to 1844 at the Berlin Art Exhibition and in 1843 and 1845 at the painting exhibitions of the Kunstverein in Bremen.
