Josef von Camerlohr
Josef von Camerlohr was a German portrait and genre painter and draftsman. Born as the son of the district judge Georg Ritter von Camerlohr, he was destined by his father to become a lawyer, but began his apprenticeship at Joseph Bernhardt's painting school in Munich and continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich. After completing his studies, he remained active in Munich as a portrait and genre painter. He also provided humorous drawings for the magazine “Flying Leaves”. He was a member of the Munich Art Association and took part in its exhibitions.
