Kurt Conrad Karl Edzard was a German painter and sculptor.
Kurt Edzard studied sculpture with Hermann Foltz and Wilhelm Gerstel at the Karlsruhe Art Academy and from 1912 attended the Académie Julian in Paris.
Kurt Edzard was first interested in Auguste Rodin and Aristide Maillol in Paris, but then found his guide mainly in Charles Despio. Attracted by the clean lines of Egyptian sculpture, he created existential figures: the human body, beautiful and delicate, upright, sitting or lying down, motionless and static. His theme is grace and silence.
