Rudolphina Swanida Wildrik
Rudolphina Swanida Wildrik was a 19th-century Dutch painter. In 1836 she took part in the Amsterdam Exhibition of Living Masters with two landscape paintings. Subsequently, she exhibited there annually and between 1836 and 1882 presented about 57 works. At first it was landscapes, then still lifes with flowers, fruits and dead game. Wildrik's work is sometimes called amateurish because it lacks liveliness. However, this assessment does not seem justified. Today, her still life paintings are still in demand in the art trade.Date and place of birt: | 8 december 1807, Zutphen, The Netherlands |
