Irma Blank is an Italian artist of German origin. Her work, based on a printed text that she transcribed in ink, was awarded at Documenta 6 in Kassel in 1977 and at the 1978 Venice Biennale. Her work has been described as "languages of drawing without words" and thus "a form of communication beyond a particular language", including sounds.
