Konstantin Dmitriyevich Flavitsky (Russian: Константин Дмитриевич Флавицкий) was a Russian artist of the mid-nineteenth century. He is known as a master of historical and religious genres.
Konstantin Flavitsky is considered a representative of the academic style, his work is clearly influenced by romanticism and classicism. One of his most recognizable works is Princess Tarakanova. This picture brought Flavitsky fame and the title of professor in the Imperial Academy of Arts.
Most of Flavitsky's paintings today are kept in Russian art museum
