Maina-Miriam Munsky
Maina-Miriam Munsky was a German artist of the second half of the twentieth century. She is known as a painter, famous for her socially engaged works in the style of critical realism and photorealism.
Munsky is particularly famous for her series of paintings, "Larger Than Life," depicting medical procedures, childbirth, and abortion. She explored the everyday lives of surgeons, obstetricians, and orderlies, creating nearly 200 oil paintings that approximate photorealism. In the last decade of her life, the artist changed subject matter and painted a series of bleak and desolate rooms and views of pale window panes and house facades.
