Max Jensen
Max Maksymilian Jensen was a German painter of the last third of the 19th century. He is known as a marine painter, a representative of the Düsseldorf school of art.
Max Jensen lived and worked in Berlin and often went on plein airs on the North and Baltic Seas. He specialized in seascapes. The subjects of his paintings are the stormy sea, seagulls, harbors, and sea scenes. In 1888, Jensen was recognized as one of the most promising marinists of his generation. The date of his death remains unknown. Many of the master's works were lost during World War II. The remaining canvases are in private collections and appear at auctions.
