One of his most ambitious projects, the "Das Rheinprojekt," saw Stephan Kaluza undertaking an almost eight-month journey along the Rhine River. Documenting the river's right bank in over 21,000 photographs, he created a panoramic view that challenges traditional perspectives of landscape photography. This work, along with his "Das Mauerprojekt" and other photographic series, underscores Kaluza's commitment to capturing and conveying the complex relationship between humanity and the natural world.
Stephan Kaluza's contributions to the fields of art and literature have been recognized with awards such as the George-Konell-Preis of Wiesbaden and the Price of the Carl- und Ruth Lauterbach-Stiftung Dusseldorf. His works are held in both public and private collections worldwide, including the Portland Art Museum in Oregon, USA, and the Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf, Germany, highlighting his international appeal and the broad relevance of his themes.

Stijn Peeter is a contemporary niderlandian artist. He studied first at the Royal Academy of Art and Design at 's-Hertogenbosch and then at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. He taught at several Dutch art academies and is currently with the Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts in Tilburg. Stijn Peeters makes many small works (drawings, graphics) on paper. His paintings however are often (very) large. His work is on display regularly in museums, art galleries and other art venues in the Netherlands and abroad. He is no stranger to self-irony in work like his "Into the doghouse" drawings, in which he visualizes his own life as that of a dog. Another recurrent theme in Stijn Peeters' work is 'The world upside down'. Mythological stories and images on folkloristic prints are other sources of inspiration.
Burkhard Held is German painter living and working in Berlin, Germany. His art is based on figuration dissolving into abstraction. In 1993 he became professor at the Berlin University of the Arts and later served as a professor at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, PRC. Burkhard Held is a figurative painter, who dissolves his motifs – landscapes, portraits, flowers – into color fields with a strong tendency towards autonomy. His strongly colored all-over images reinterpret things as abstract and then lead the back into figuration. In 2009 Held started to dedicate himself to the subject of flowers: blossoms become compositions with a landscape character, and are distributed in equally strong colors across the canvas.
Römer + Römer, consisting of Nina and Torsten Römer, is an acclaimed German-Russian artist duo known for their vibrant and immersive paintings. Born in different countries, with Nina hailing from Moscow, Russia, in 1978, and Torsten from Aachen, Germany, in 1968, they both met during their studies at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, where they became Master Students under A.R. Penck. Since 1998, they have collaborated as both a couple and a creative duo, making Berlin their home and workspace since 2000.
Their unique approach to art often involves engaging with contemporary culture and events, as seen in their diverse exhibitions. From capturing the essence of the Burning Man festival in "Burning Man – Electric Sky" to exploring social themes in "Generalstreik," their work spans a broad spectrum of subjects. Notably, their participation in the 56th Venice Biennale and exhibitions across various cities showcases their international recognition and appeal.
Römer + Römer's method of creation is deeply collaborative, emphasizing communication and joint creativity over individual genius. This dynamic has allowed them to navigate the complexities of working closely together, transforming potential conflicts into constructive discussions. Their work is characterized by a rich, pointillist technique that marries traditional painting with digital pixelation, creating a bridge between classical art forms and contemporary digital aesthetics.
For art collectors and experts, Römer + Römer's work offers a fresh perspective on landscape and portrait painting, infused with modern themes and innovative techniques. Ulrich Erben is a German painter. From 1980 to 2005, he was a Professor of Painting at the Kunstakademie Münster (University of Fine Arts Münster). He is known as a master of the color field style of abstract painting, closely related to abstract expressionism, in which he creates tension between a defined surface structure, his own method of applying paint to a canvas, and the relationship of various shades of white or color to each other in their placement as part of a composition on the flat plane of a canvas. In 1986 and 2008, he was awarded the Konrad-von-Soest Prize for Visual Arts by the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (Landscape Society Westphalia-Lippe).
Ladislas Kijno is a French artist of Polish origin, one of the greatest abstractionists of the twentieth century.
