Ian Hamilton Finlay was a Scottish poet, writer, artist and gardener.
Finlay's work is notable for a number of recurring themes: a penchant for classical writers (especially Virgil); a concern with fishing and the sea; an interest in the French Revolution; and a continual revisiting of World War II and the memento mori Latin phrase Et in Arcadia ego.
Finlay was nominated for the Turner Prize in 1985. He was awarded honorary doctorates from Aberdeen University in 1987, Heriot-Watt University in 1993 and the University of Glasgow in 2001, and an honorary and/or visiting professorship from the University of Dundee in 1999. The French Communist Party presented him with a bust of Saint-Just in 1991. He received the Scottish Horticultural Medal from the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society in 2002, and the Scottish Arts Council Creative Scotland Award in 2003.

Dieter Finke is a German painter and sculptor.
Dieter Finke studied sculpture at the Hochschule für Arbeit Berlin, and has lived and worked in Berlin and New York. He was interested in painting, drawings, photo-objects and photo-collages, resulting in an extensive collection exhibited in renowned galleries in Berlin, Hanover, Hamburg and New York.
Finke used unusual materials such as wood and cardboard for his sculptural works, especially animals, and he always succeeded in convincingly portraying the fragile nature of the relationship between animals and humans. The form of the animal or bird is hinted at rather than filled in, leaving room for the viewer's imagination.
Odoardo Fialetti was an Italian painter and printmaker who began his training during the late Renaissance, and showed distinct mannerist sensibilities in his mid-career, adopting a much looser and more dynamic style in his later life.
Born in Bologna, he initially apprenticed with Giovanni Battista Cremonini, and after traveling to Rome, he moved to Venice to work in the elderly Tintoretto's studio.
From 1604 to 1612, he is listed as member of the Venetian Fraglia dei Pittori. In Venice, he painted a St Agnes for the church of San Nicolò da Tolentino and scenes from the Life of St Dominic for the sacristy of the Santi Giovanni e Paolo.
