Original green cloth, covers and spine with titles, illustration and publisher’s device stamped in dark green (extremities slightly rubbed, head- and tailcap bruised, some staining o lower cover); original pictorial dust-jacket (somewhat soiled, upper panel with circular stain, several nicks, creases and tears, chip to upper panel with some loss to printed title). Provenance: Frits Menschaar (no internal evidence of provenance).

Original orange cloth, upper cover and spine with title, lower cover and spine with publisher’s device, all stamped in black (faint edge wear); original dust-jacket with design by Abbey (some edge wear and small nicks). Provenance: Bullock’s, Los Angeles (bookseller’s sticker to inside of dust-jacket).

Heath Robinson (lightly rubbed, edges frayed and nicked, a few short tears).

First English edition. McIlvaine A23(b). Octavo. Two leaves of publisher’s ads at end (B/1 dogeared, tiny stain to fore-edge). Original red cloth, lower cover with publisher’s device, spine and upper cover with titles, all stamped in black (spine tanned and extremities very faintly rubbed); original dust-jacket with design by Galeis? (soiled and heavily worn, spine ends with large chips resulting in loss to a few letters of title and completely removing publisher’s name, further small nicks and tears). Provenance: Frits Menschaar (no internal evidence of provenance).

First appeared as a novella under this title in December 1909. Not in McIlvaine.
