Canvas on the subframe Oil Abstract Expressionism Русская живопись Austria 2011
Living in the material world loaded with problems and searching for ways to solve them, we rarely hear the voice of the universe. It is a sense of belonging to something eternal, holistic, all-encompassing. When this sense appears, it makes us tremble from happiness and soar above everyday life. I'm looking for ways to grasp and express it. The most ancient civilizations had their own signs for expressing such complex concepts. Spiral was one of these meaning-laden signs. As the most mysterious graphic symbol, it was perceived as a growing and self-developing figure embodying the cosmos. In turn, this symbol is associated with the shell’s image, which I use as the main figurative element in my works. Playing with it, I give it a new meaning every time. It’s as if I’m trying to manifest the one in the singular with this symbol, some world not manifested by form, through the real physical world. The world, which born in the imagination, expresses itself, as if filtering through, shows its face through an already created, existing form. I ask many questions about life and death, finitude, the transition from one state to another, the immortality of the soul, and the inner structure of all things

Information about the artist
I was born into a family of artists. Watching my mother from an early age I was involved in sculpture and painting. Exploring the world around me, I tried to understand and comprehend reality and define my place in it. Studying philosophy and psychology, I found my own language, techniques and means to express subjects difficult to visualize. I explore the problems of creation, life and death, the theme of finitude. The questions I ask are consonant with ancient religious and mythological ideas and searches, but I give them a subtle psychological load and try to reveal them as I see them. I adhere to the view that there is no objective state of affairs and no precise definition of reality common to all. In my research I do not limit myself to a single subject; it is a symbiosis of psychological practices, practical experiments, and philosophical quests.
