Europe's first porcelain manufactory Meissen was founded in 1710, shortly after the discovery of the secret of making hard-paste porcelain in the Saxon alchemist Johann Friedrich Bottger (1682-1719) in collaboration with the scientist Ehrenfried Walther von Cirrhosa (1651-1708).

Meissen porcelain does not lose its value for collectors in our day. Centuries-old heritage of Meissen closely guard its master the ability to produce many kinds of porcelain, in no way inferior to the original. The difference between the new and the old porcelain is almost imperceptible. In our days, as 300 years ago, all Meissen porcelain is created by hand.
