Estimate value
€ 25 000 – 35 000
Calligrammes. Lithos de Chirico. Paris, Gallimard, 1930.
Apollinaire, Œuvres poétiques, pp. 1074-1078, 1192-1193 ; Rauch, Les Peintres et le livre, 159 ; From Manet to Hockney, Victoria & Albert Museum, 84 ; Castleman, A Century of Artists Books, p. 180.
In-4 (331 x 248 mm).
One of the 10 copies on mother-of-pearl Japan paper, with the additional suite on China paper, in an impressive inlaid binding by Paul Bonet, described by the master bookbinder himself as “perhaps one of my most chromatically pleasing achievements”.
