Édition originale d’une grande rareté, illustrée de 125 planches gravées sur cuivre. La cuisine d’apparat mise en scène comme un art total.
Le traité architectural marque l’apothéose du grand service à la française. Bien qu’autodidacte, Carême consacrait ses loisirs au Cabinet des Estampes de façon à mettre en œuvre ses pièces montées lors des fameux « extraordinaires » qui firent sa réputation sous l’Empire. Orfèvre du goût et des saveurs, il a lui-même dessiné au trait les compositions qui lui valurent d’être surnommé le Palladio de la Pâtisserie. Le catalogue collectif de France ne localise pas d’autre exemplaire que celui de la BnF. Cagle, 124 ; Vicaire, 144-145.
In-4 (258 x 162 mm). L’exemplaire est revêtu de la signature autographe de l’auteur au verso du faux titre. Illustré de 125 planches dont le titre et une dépliante, gravées par Normand et Thierry d’après Carême (piqûres et mouillures à l’ensemble du volume). Reliure pastiche : demi-maroquin vert à coins avec réemploi de gardes du XIXe siècle, dos lisse richement orné, tranches marbrées.
Provenance : sur le contreplat, épître dédicatoire à Carême, à l’encre violette, datée du 3 octobre 1837.

Auctions are performed by auction houses and each of the auction houses describes their terms of auction. You can see the texts in the section "Auction information".
The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
