NOTE:
Chen Sanli, also known as Bo Yan and San yuan, was born in Xiushui, Jiangxi Province. He was an important representative for the modern Tongguang school of poetry. Chen came from a famous family and was the eldest son of Chen Baozhen (1831-1900), a famous minister of the late Qing Dynastry. He was also the father of Chen Yinke (1890-1969), a great master of Chinese studies, and Chen Hengke (1876-1923), a painter.
