Première et unique édition de cet ouvrage important, richement illustré. L'édition est entièrement composée en caractères de civilité, spécialement gravés par Philippe Danfrie, graveur général des monnaies de France et numismate. Danfrie est à la fois l'inventeur du graphomètre, l'illustrateur et le graveur des planches du livre. Le graphomètre devait rester le mesureur d'angle des arpenteurs jusqu'au début du XXe siècle.

Petit in-4 (198 x 124 mm). Signatures : A-M O-R4. 14 gravures sur cuivre (dont 11 à pleine page) et 4 gravures sur bois. Le privilège (R4r) est en second état. Reliure du XVIIIe siècle : basane brune, dos orné, pièce de titre en maroquin rouge. (mouillures dans l'ensemble du volume ; mors usés, coins frottés).
Provenance : au verso du titre, indication manuscrite contemporaine de l'édition : "Japartient a Marshe Jacques Boissay". Cette mention est entourée de notes d'une autre main, d'ordre scientifique. Au verso du dernier feuillet, deux mains anciennes différentes ont indiqué : "Trigomètre" -- sur le contreplat, étiquette du libraire Bouchard, à Metz. -- Enfin, au verso de la dernière garde, annotation de provenance datée 1864.
First and only edition, and one of only two books printed with these civilité types. An instrument maker, fine metal worker, and engraver (including of bookbinding tools), Danfrie was appointed "graveur général des monnaies de France" in 1582. He was the second person to create a civilité font, following Robert Granjon in Lyon, Danfrie himself was the author of this work describing an instrument he invented for measuring angles.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
