Further details
Created for the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, this bench in patinated bronze embodies the timeless elegance of Diego Giacometti's work. It was around 1964 that the artist was asked by the Maeght family to participate in creating the furniture for this mythical place, a dialogue between modern and contemporary art as well as architecture. In addition to the benches placed in the exhibition rooms, he also designed a bar, stools, large floor lamps and dozens of outdoor chairs. This commission highlights the artist's immense talent— each visitor can sit down and be seduced by masterpieces or one of Alberto's sculptures.
