As Monique Le Pelley Fonteny remarks of this pastel, which she dates around 1909 (op. cit.), Lhermitte’s style is no longer descriptive as usual but more graphic and spontaneous; the shimmering colours take over the subject represented, in particular the bright blue of great luminosity.

Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
