Édition originale du premier livre de Marcel Proust.
Exemplaire avec envoi autographe signé de l'auteur à Paul Marais, témoin d'une carrière avortée à la bibliothèque Mazarine : "à Monsieur Marais, Hommage de son respectueusement reconnaissant, Marcel Proust".
L'envoi est vraisemblablement adressé à Paul Marais, attaché puis conservateur à la bibliothèque Mazarine et président de l'Association des bibliothécaires français. En 1895, alors que Marcel Proust est âgé de 24 ans, il passe un concours pour être attaché non rétribué à la bibliothèque Mazarine, répondant à l'ouverture de trois postes. Reçu troisième et dernier, il n'effectuera jamais son service et finira par démissionner, après avoir prolongé plusieurs fois son congé. Il publie ce premier livre en 1896, symbole de son amité avec Madeleine Lemaire, qui en réalise l'illustration, et Reynaldo Hahn, qui y ajoute quatre partitions pour piano. Les trois artistes s'étaient rencontrés au salon de Madeleine Lemaire, que Proust fréquentait assidument dès 1892. A. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
