First edition of the 13th Relation, containing the reconstructed Huron mission report which had been lost during Father Jogues's captivity. Mathieu Molé's copy. This Relation also includes the first publication of an account of the capture and mutilation of Father Francesco Bressani by the Iroquois. Bressani, who lived a while longer at the Huron missions before returning permanently to Italy, later published a longer description of his experiences in a 1653 book printed at Macerata. Two parts in one, octavo (176 x 107mm). Half-title of part 2 bound before general title and letter of transmittal bound before beginning of part 1 text. Woodcut printer's device on title (toned, a few leaves with discreet marginal repairs, in one case just touching a few words, one leaf with long marginal tear). Contemporary calf gilt with arms of Mathieu Molé, spine gilt in compartments with title and his monogram (rebound neatly preserving gilt calf of the spine panel and boards, new endpapers). Provenance: Mathieu Molé, 1584-1656, French statesman (supralibros) – Library of the Augustinian Fathers of Paris (inscriptions, noting "ad usum s. M.M. Caroli Denis") – two effaced 19th/20th-century French noble bookplates.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
