Édition originale de la première traduction française des Œuvres de William Shakespeare par Pierre Le Tourneur (1737-1788) comprenant notamment Hamlet, Roméo et Juliette ou encore Othello.
Exemplaire en maroquin rouge de l’époque aux armes de Louis-Philippe d’Orléans des six premiers volumes de cette édition. L'édition complète comprend 20 volumes. Brunet, V, col. 355.
6 vol. in-4 (254 x 191 mm). Illustré de 17 bandeaux et 207 culs-de-lampe (rousseurs et piqûres, quelques cahiers brunis). Reliure de l’époque : maroquin rouge, armes de Louis-Philippe d’Orléans au centre des plats (OHR pl. 631), triple filet doré en encadrement, fleurons en écoinçons aux angles dos à nerfs et caissons ornés de fleurons dorés, pièces de titre et de tomaison en maroquin vert, double filet doré sur les coupes, roulette dorée en encadrement des contreplats , gardes de papier marbré tranches dorées (frottements aux coins) Les reliures des tomes I et II ne sont pas les mêmes que celles des tomes III à VI : les maroquins, tous deux rouges, sont de teintes différentes, et si les décors sont similaires, les fers utilisés ne sont pas les mêmes. La reliure des deux premiers volumes semble légèrement postérieure.
Provenance : reliure aux armes de Louis-Philippe Ier (1725-1785) -- cachet à l’encre rose aux armes de Pierre-Paul-Etienne de Rochechouart (1724-1799), lieutenant-général des armées navales (numéro d’inventaire 00219).

Auctions are performed by auction houses and each of the auction houses describes their terms of auction. You can see the texts in the section "Auction information".
The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
