Post lot text
Playing between painting and photography, Ulrich Lamsfuß's oil paintings question the very idea of originality. He draws his inspiration from numerous photographs in the print and digital media, consumer catalogues, scientific journals and art history books. Then, with a precise and perfectionist mimicry, he reproduces these photographs on canvas. His works have been exhibited in Belgium, Germany, the United States, France, Austria and Switzerland, and are notably present in the collections of the Saatchi Gallery in London and the United States, in the Collezione Maramotti in Italy and in the Kunsthaus Kollitsch in Austria.
