Cette édition est publiée aux dépens de l'auteur, le succès des Poèmes saturniens n'ayant pas été jugé suffisant pour convaincre l'éditeur de prendre à sa charge les frais d'impression. Rimbaud, qui, à l'époque, n'a pas encore fait la connaissance de Verlaine mais s'est procuré son livre, écrit à son professeur de rhétorique Georges Izambard: "j'ai les Fêtes galantes de Paul Verlaine, un joli in-12 écu. C'est fort bizarre, très drôle; mais vraiment c'est adorable..." (lettre du 25 août 1876, éditée dans Verlaine, Oeuvres poétiques complètes, Pléiade, 1962, p. 102).
Précieux exemplaire sur vergé de Hollande, avec envoi autographe signé de Verlaine au poète parnassien Henry Winter.
Verlaine lui avait dédié le chapitre "Caprices" des Poèmes saturniens. Henri Winter avait collaboré au premier recueil du Parnasse contemporain avec 2 poèmes : L'Auberge et Nuit d'Hiver. Il est l'un des trois Parnassiens à qui Verlaine dédia un poème.

Petit in-12 (149 x 92 mm). Édition originale. Un des 350 exemplaires sur vergé de Hollande, au filigrane BFK. Envoi autographe signé sur le faux-titre : "à mon ami Henry Winter, Souvenir bien sympathique, P. Verlaine". Reliure de l'époque : demi-percaline rouge à coins, dos lisse et muet, sans les couvertures (reliure frottée et tachée, usures au tissu).

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
