Hans Mendler is a contemporary German painter, graphic artist and sculptor.
He draws partly abstract, partly figurative, but never naturalistic, always guided by intuition and emotion. Sometimes his work is heavily coloured, sometimes graphically reduced. On the one hand Mendler's works are calm and meditative, on the other they are gestural and wild.
His sculptures, mostly carved from wood with a chainsaw, seem to be creatures from another world.
Hans Mendler has successfully shown his work at many exhibitions in Europe, Asia and America. Since 2013, he has been represented by Galerie Meinlschmidt/ Balingen.
