Jean-Pierre Rivalz II
Jean-Pierre Rivalz the Younger was a French painter, printmaker, art collector and drawing teacher.
Jean-Pierre Rivalz the Younger learnt painting from his father, Antoine Rivalz. Between 1735 and 1746 he lived in Rome, where he was a pupil of Pierre Soubleiras. He painted a portrait of Pope Benedict XIV, who appointed him Count of the Sacred Palace and Chevalier of the Golden Spur. On 10 May 1746 he took part in the first meeting of the Society of Fine Arts of Toulouse.
