Rudolf Ferdinandovich Frentz
Rudolf Ferdinandovich Frentz (Russian: Рудольф Фердинандович Френц) was a Russian artist of the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries of German origin. He is known as a painter-animalist, the father of the artist Rudolf Rudolfovich Frentz.
Rudolf Frentz was a court painter under Emperor Alexander II. He accompanied the tsar's retinue during hunting, military maneuvers, and travels and created a series of works on hunting themes that masterfully depicted horses and dogs in impetuous motion.
