Rudolf Rudolfovich Frentz (Russian: Рудо́льф Рудо́льфович Фре́нц) was a Russian and Soviet artist of the first half of the twentieth century. He is known as a painter and graphic artist, battle-painter, muralist, and teacher who was at the origins of the Leningrad school of painting.
Rudolf Frentz painted battle, genre and historical compositions, portraits, urban and landscape landscapes. After the 1917 revolution, the artist worked on propaganda posters, painted on fabrics and porcelain, participated in the decoration of municipal buildings and events. He is best known as a master of thematic paintings and panoramas, the creator of dioramas and monumental panoramas.
