Eugen Felix Prosper Bracht was a German landscape painter.
A late Romanticist painter, Bracht was known for his moody landscapes and coastal scenes in North Germany, and began a sketching trip through Syria, Palestine and Egypt from 1880 to 1881. In 1882, he became a Professor of Landscape Painting at the Prussian Academy of Arts.
Later, Bracht became a representative of German Impressionism.

Joan Brown was an American artist from Northern California. She was part of the second generation of the Bay Area Figurative Movement.

Anselmo Bucci was an Italian painter, printmaker, writer and one of the founders of the Neoclassical trend in Italian art in the early 20th century, the Novecento.

Felice Casorati was an Italian painter. The future painter originally studied piano, then graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Padua. At the same time he took painting lessons, first in Pavia, and from 1908 in Naples. In 1907 and 1909 held exhibitions of his paintings in Venice.
Felice Cazorati's work is strongly influenced by Symbolism and the Art Nouveau style (especially Gustav Klimt). In the early 1920s, the artist embraces the metaphysical realism of Giorgio de Chirico and uses his principles of spatial construction on the canvas. Later in the 1920s, he studied Renaissance art (in particular the works of Piero della Francesca). He painted still-lifes, genre and religious paintings, women's portraits and nudes, and also worked as a theatrical artist.
At the end of the 1920s, Felice Cazorati opened his own art school in Turin, and also taught at the Turin Academy of Art.


Alfredo Castañeda was a Mexican surrealist painter.
Castañeda had been interested in painting and drawing since childhood, but first became an architect, earning a degree in architecture from the University of Mexico. During his studies, he continued to paint as a hobby, which he became more and more serious about over the years. At university, Alfredo became acquainted with the painter, sculptor and architect Matthias Goeritz, as well as the work of René Magritte. Both played a huge role in the young artist's worldview.
After his studies, Castañeda worked as an architect and in 1969 had his first solo exhibition at Galeria de Arte Mexicano. His work has also been shown internationally numerous times in the United States and in many Latin American countries, including Mexico. Fabrizio Clerici was an Italian painter, draftsman, illustrator, scenographer and architect.
Clerici earned a degree in architecture and was greatly influenced by antiquities, Renaissance and Baroque painting and architecture. In 1943, Clerici held his first solo exhibition at the Galleria dell'Arte Cairola in Milan, featuring drawings, watercolors, lithographs and etchings. Gustave Franciscus De Smet was a Belgian painter. Together with Constant Permeke and Frits Van den Berghe, he was one of the founders of Flemish Expressionism. In 1908, he and his wife followed Léon to the artists' colony in Sint-Martens-Latem. There, they initially came under the influence of Luminism and the painter Emile Claus, who lived in nearby Astene. At the beginning of World War I, he and his family joined his friend, Van den Berghe, and fled to the Netherlands. From 1914 to 1922, they moved about, visiting and staying at the art colonies in Amsterdam, Laren and Blaricum.[2] His meeting with the Expressionist painter Henri Le Fauconnier marked a turning point in his style which, up until then, owed much to Cubism. In 1927, he settled in Deurle. It was there that his mixture of Expressionism and Cubism peaked, with a series of works depicting circus, fairground and village scenes. After his death in Deurle at the age of sixty-six, his house was preserved as a local museum.

Karl Wilhelm Diefenbach was a German artist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He is known as a painter, graphic artist, representative of Symbolism and Art Nouveau style, as well as a public figure, the creator of the commune Himmelhof.

Gaines Ruger Donoho was an American painter.

Marc Eemans was a Belgian painter, poet and art historian, one of the pioneers of constructivist abstraction.

John Atkinson Grimshaw was an English Victorian-era artist best known for his nocturnal scenes of urban landscapes. He was called a «remarkable and imaginative painter» by the critic and historian Christopher Wood in Victorian Painting (1999).
Grimshaw's love for realism stemmed from a passion for photography, which would eventually lend itself to the creative process. Though entirely self-taught, he is known to have used a camera obscura or lenses to project scenes onto canvas, which made up for his shortcomings as a draughtsman and his imperfect knowledge of perspective. This technique, which Caravaggio and Vermeer may also have used, was condemned by a number of his contemporaries who believed it demonstrated less skill than painting by eye, with some claiming that his paintings appeared to «show no marks of handling or brushwork», while others "were doubtful whether they could be accepted as paintings at all". However, many recognised his mastery of colour, lighting and shadow, as well as his unique ability to provoke strong emotional responses in the viewer. James McNeill Whistler, who Grimshaw worked with in his Chelsea studios, stated, «I considered myself the inventor of nocturnes until I saw Grimmy's moonlit pictures».
